F3 S-Log Demo
Abelcine have a new blog entry giving a short demonstration of the advantages of the PMW-F3 S-Log upgrade. The difference is striking, particularly in the last shot. Well worth upgrading.
The upgrade is back ordered worldwide, till the end of January, but thanks to Videocraft I have their rental S-Log installed on my F3 until Sony’s back orders are filled.

JVC GY-HMQ10 4K
Consumer 4K is arriving. Well not really 4K, the redefined by RED 4K, which resolves around 2.8-3K with a decent lens after de-bayering. All in a 1/2 CMOS sensor, so each pixel will be that much smaller with all the attendant noise and lack of dynamic range that follows. With cheap glass, higher noise and compression, it will be interesting what this camera resolves, or what your average consumer would even play 4K back on?

EVF035W-3G Viewfinder
All of the currently available HD-SDI viewfinders are flawed in some irritating ways, be it the diopter, the panel, the build quality, the mounting system.
Here’s a new entry which hopefully improves on these problems. TVLogic EVF035W-3G.
