I have just seen this news today. What do you think prompted this collaboration?
It’s hard to say from the outside, but Panavision have always collaborated with manufacturers to create their own unique gear. It’s their major selling point, a full gear ecosystem that’s solid and just works well. They had been trying to develop their own sensors for many years, but it’s a very big task as I’m sure you know. Two heads are better than one I guess.
